Nova Scotia Music Week!

Hokay! It’s time! The bandlings and I are bound for Yarmouth on Thursday morning to showcase at Nova Scotia Music Week. Super proud of all of them: Sean and Nick are each playing in four bands (including mine), Carmel is showcasing her amazing new album, and Jordi is playing in 3 bands AND is nominated for a Music nova Scotia Award for Musician of the Year.

Sadly, because I can’t be in two places at once, this means I’ll be missing the Canadian Folk Music Awards in Edmonton, but I am over-the-moon proud to have been nominated with some amazing fellow artists. Jordi and I will be at the awards ceremony for the Music Nova Scotia Awards on Sunday morning (still can’t believe Tempest of Old got four award-nominations!) enjoying the whole award fanfare.

Here’s to an amazing NSMW and some adventures in Yarmouth!

UK/International Album Release Time and Reeperbahn!

Well hello, lovelies!

I hope this finds you all well. I’m just home from an amazing tour in Western Canada with Lisa Leblanc and her amazing, magical, delightful posse. We had so much fun. We played in some beautiful spaces with wonderful audiences.

This shot was taken at our last show in Calgary. I’m going to miss these beauties.

On Tuesday the 22nd, the bandlings and I will reunite to head out on our first adventure in Germany. We are playing the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg with a bunch of Canadian favourite musical friends. Eee! Then Jordi and Nick will head home, and Carmel Mikol and Gina Burgess and I will head to the UK where we are playing a string of release shows for The Tempest of Old, which will be released internationally on September 25th. So many things coming up!

I’m leaving it at that. As always, I will be social media-ing throughout the whole adventure. Facebook/Twitter/Instagram–pick yer poison!

Hope to see you soon!

Bugs n’fishes,

Ahoy! Is it Spring yet where you are? I think it might be coming to Nova Scotia, but I really don’t want to jinx anything, so I’ll just say it was sunny here today and the temperature was warm enough to continue melting some of the mammoth snowbanks we have become accustomed to. No matter! I am only home for two days anyway, as we began touring the new album a little while ago.

Tour dates can be found here below, or via the show link above.

Hope to see you at a show!

Bugs n’fishes,

We’ve a couple more dates to confirm in the UK and one pending in Guelph so keep checking the website or the facebook tour event page for updates.

Hope to see you at a show!

‘With Our Trouble’ in CBC Radio 2 Charts!

Hot damn! This is exciting! CBC Radio 2 has been playing ‘With Our Trouble’ and the song has made it into the charts. It’s pretty cool to be sitting in the same company as some friends and heroes of mine. You can wander over here if you’d like to see the list, listen to the show, and discover some new songs.

Have a lovely Sunday, friends! I’m off to shovel yet more snow on this sunny Spring day in Halifax.

Bugs n’fishes,
